Our Hongkong Vacation 2016 (Day 1)

We were in Hong Kong in the last weekend of June for a much deserved vacation and also to celebrate my husband's birthday. I'm so glad that I was able to book cheaper airline tickets via Air Asia back in March and that my son's school break is still until the end of July.  We stayed at a guest house in Mongkok, Kowloon that I was able to book through Airbnb. Yep, we are certified budget travelers!

This video pretty much sums up what happened during our first day. Majority of it was in transit so there's really nothing much to write about. It was already evening when we arrived in Hong Kong. We just rested for a while in our room and headed to Temple Street for dinner (this requires a separate post) and some Night Market shopping. I did enjoy walking the stretch of Temple Street because of the variety of goods and even bought souvenirs already. The boys, on the other hand, enjoyed the egg waffle that we bought in a separate store. (I think, it was Ralph's consolation as he did not find the gadgets that he needed for his recording like what's sold in universalpro.com.) It was hot and humid so we headed back to Mongkok by midnight.

Stay tuned for my post about our second day. It will be lengthy as we stayed the whole day in Disneyland HK!

  10. Hongkong is such a wonderful place to visit & it is great how you have started your first day quiet peacefully in a relaxed mode. It is always good when you can get cheaper airline tickets as you can use it for something else on your vacation.
