Perimeter Shelving
If you want to use the space in a room that doesn’t get used up, then it can be a good way to improve storage, without taking out any floor space. So like many walk-in closets have, you could install some shelving around the perimeter of the room. The storage will be up high, but it will be out of sight in a way, and can be a good spot for those things that you need, but don’t use all that much.
Ottoman Bed
One great and easy way to improve storage at home is to have a bed that comes with some built-in storage. An ottoman bed is the bed where the base lifts up, so that you can put things in there, of varying sizes, as it doesn’t just have to be what fits under the bed. You can use it for clothing, as well as things like books, blankets, and sheets. It is easy to use and will be storage that is completely hidden.
Headboard with Storage
You could also think about getting a headboard that comes with some storage. There are some headboards that you can use for your bed that have shelving above them, or even have some slide out drawers at the side of them. You’ll be having a bed in the room anyway, so why not use one that has a chunky headboard that comes with some storage?
Built-In Wardrobes
If you want an easy win that is designed to fit your room exactly, then looking into built in wardrobes can be a really good idea. Because it can be designed specifically for your room, it can be a great help for rooms that have a non-traditional shape, where ‘off the rack’ wardrobes won’t fit. You can get hidden drawers and shelving in there too, to make sure of every nook and cranny in the room.
Radiator Cover
You are likely to have a radiator in the room as well, which can be a good way to add in some extra storage. A radiator cover can make the radiator look much nicer, but it will also help as a space for storage, as it is like a brand new shelf. Great for things like trinkets, books, and mirrors.
